Paddle Canada Winter Program
In Collaboration with the Pender Island Community Resources Centre, we are excited to announce an initiative to create a year round opportunity for Small Businesses of the Southern Gulf Islands.
Every winter we offer a chance to increase your skills to the potential of becoming part of a National Industry of Sea Kayak Instructors. This begins with the Skill Set to ensure safe and efficient paddling in any water. Our goal is to increase your skill awareness and confidence level while paddling ocean waters in particular.
The first step toward this recognition is Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Level 1 Skills.
This winter's dates: November 24 - 26 2017, February TBA
The Paddle Canada Level 1 Skills Certificate give you a full comprehensive understanding of Sea Kayaking in calm and sheltered waters. Some of the fun sessions we feature are:
Tides and Currents
Much much more!
Some of the extras you might partake in are
enjoying evening Hot Tubs
visit to a local favourite Pender Chocolates
Saturday night entertainment
and awesome on site catered meals around the warmth and comfort of an oceanfront fire.
The regular time frame set for a Level 1 Skills is 2 days. We offer an extra day, with all the fixings! Included in this adventure is all your camping gear and costs, kayak, safety gear & wetsuit (drysuit rental extra), catered meals (day 1 lunch to day 3 lunch), evening fires and commeraderie from new paddling peers, as well as of course your course fees and certificate of completion at the end of the weekend!
Arrive to Pender Island with your personal belongings and get ready for adventure!
Your arrival begins with a personal arrival to your campsite where you'll make yourself at home for the next 3 days.
